PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
In 1986, I Mohammed Anwar started tuition classes for elder students on honorary basis
and found that there were children who are not enrolled in the schools.
By his continuous
research, he found that low income children are far away from education and not
getting exposure. He decided to start a school to serve education for the low income
families. He started a school with 43 students in 1987 and motivated the parents
to send their children to school. In 1994 the school has been recognised by the
Government of Andhra Pradesh up to 7th standard. And up to 10th standard in 2000.
On 27th January 2000 Mr Anwar met with Professor James Tooley, professor in education
policy, University of Newcastle, England (London). Mr Anwar inspired by Prof. James
tooley by his contribution towards the education sector.
He motivated to the parents about the girl child education. As per community needs and demand he started run
separate classes for girls. MAIS seen the transformation in the community though
school by providing quality education. In 2009 MAIS announced its expansion plan
to develop and sustain a seamless Nursery to 10th Class network of 8 schools throughout
the Andhra Pradesh state and serving about 4,000 students from low income families.
MAIS planning to extend its services to all over the Andhra Pradesh and other states
to establish 50 schools by 2025.
